Simple Ways To Boost Profits During The Holiday Season For Restaurants

0

The year 2022 was full of surp(rises). Everyone had their own way to tackle inflation and now that 2023 is approaching, businesses are trying to figure out the key to maximise profits while confronting the cost of living crisis.

Festivities are around the corner and this is a great time for restaurants and hospitality businesses to attract more customers and yield more profits. And why not? People like to spend time with their loved ones, eat, celebrate and drink together during Christmas. As per Toggle UK, 13% of UK adults are planning to go to a restaurant on Christmas eve and 24% plan to go to a pub or eatery on New Year’s eve.

It is an opportunity for restaurants, bars, and cafes to generate an abundance of awareness, an increase in revenue per guest, and even repeatable business. While all other businesses are often closed during this time of the year, restaurants and takeaways can clearly bank on festivities, which is possible with a little preparation.

1. Create a holiday/festive menu

Don’t use your existing menu for holidays. Create a new festive menu with special holiday rates and food items. Customers like to go by holiday themes during Christmas and if they find your menu appealing, they are surely gonna celebrate the festivities with you. In order to expand the business and increase profits, a restaurant will need to attract new clientele, which is possible by highlighting a new festive menu.

Drink specials are also a great way to boost ticket sales and profitability during weekdays. Alcohol consumption is pretty high during the festive season so a promotion that boosts orders can generate higher profitability. Promote your offers on social media to boost exposure.

2. Streamline efficiency and cut down on waste

As a restaurant owner, you know that wasting food and paper products can add up quickly and cost you a lot of money. To ensure your restaurant is running efficiently, it’s important to evaluate what customers and employees are throwing away. By doing this, you can identify areas of improvement such as reducing portion sizes, changing ingredients, or streamlining processes.

Most restaurants carry out everyday procedures for daily operations to create consistency regardless of who is performing the task. If any problem areas that waste employee productivity and time, then steps should be taken to better manage employee time and increase overall productivity.

3. Examine food costs to make sure you’re making profits

As a restaurant dealer, it is crucial to negotiate on food items and other inventory. As Christmas is the most expensive time of the season, make sure to buy stuff which is not too heavy on your pocket and lets you make profits easily. At the same time, make sure the quality doesn’t get compromised over the price.

4. Entice prospects with special offers

The holiday season brings exciting offers on everything. Customers expect special offers and discounts during their favourite festival. They are happy to spend but they also want value for their money. You can attract new customers with lucrative deals and offers during weekdays and weekends to amplify your customer base during festive season.

List your restaurant on All Eat platform

Customers want convenience. They want the freedom to access menu and order from anywhere. Every restaurant today is on a food ordering platform. However, it’s up to you to decide which one works best for you. Are you making profits out of it or not?

If you are paying 20%-40% commission to takeaway apps then, the profits would not be that much to help you thrive and cover the costs of operations. However, if you switch to 0% commission apps such as All Eat, you’ll not only be able to afford operating expenses, you’ll start making tangible profits from your business.

As you can see, there are many ways to evaluate and cut down costs, be more efficient, and boost POS sales. Increasing the use of restaurant technology can boost sales, increase productivity, and improve inventory management. And last but not the least, always partner with a good food ordering platform which can help you reach more customers and take more orders on your behalf without charging any commission. By implementing these changes, you can easily boost your restaurant’s income during Christmas and New year.

Top 5 Nutritious Chinese Takeaway Dishes You Can Consume Guilt-free

0

Let us take you on a guilt-free adventure!!

Have you ever watched the Big Bang Theory? Then you might have noticed that the characters in the show used to order Chinese food the most. And to be honest, it looked goood! Chinese food is a popular takeaway option and is also considered healthy as it involves a lot of vegetables, fresh meat and sauces in its preparation. Plus, there are a lot of vegan options in Chinese food that are worth a try.

If you’re tempted for an authentic Chinese meal while following a diet, you’re in for a treat since many Chinese food options allow you to stay healthy and fit without giving up on good food. Here are a few recipes that you can try or order from your nearby restaurant to relish.

Steamed Dumplings

The most staple food in Chinese cuisine is also the most nutritious and versatile. You can prepare it with flour and sneak in some cabbage or any other veggie, meat or tofu. Just be sure to have them steamed and not fried. Dip them in chilli sauce instead of soy, and you’ll cut back on sodium, too. A healthy and yummy meal.

Beef and Broccoli

Your mom may have hinted that you should be eating your broccoli and she would have been right. Broccoli is a superfood and one that can easily be found in most Chinese restaurants, which often include it as a menu item. Combine beef with broccoli and experience the magic of great taste and nutritious benefits.

Kung Pao Chicken

If you like healthy food with a spicy twist, then Kung Pao Chicken is your best bet.  This dish is prepared with mixed chilli peppers, diced chicken and veggies. Peanuts also give the dish a nutrient boost. They have heart-healthy fibre, unsaturated fat, and antioxidants. But, like many Chinese dishes, this one’s high in sodium, so watch how much you have the rest of the day.

Tofu and veggies stir fry

Most Chinese restaurants have an entire section on the menu devoted to vegetarian meals and this is one dish which is equally upvoted by foodies and dieticians. If possible, try steamed or boiled tofu instead of fried tofu to avoid fats and unhealthy oils. You can put any vegetable in this recipe that you like. Green veggies in this meal support immune health, and heart health and work to keep blood sugar levels steady. Round out your meal with miso soup or a salad. Try to cut back on sodium by consuming less soy sauce.

Moo Goo Gai Pan

Moo Goo Gai Pan is prepared with chicken, mushrooms and lots of green vegetables with light sauce. Since there are a lot of vegetables to keep you full you don’t need any other dish with this delicacy. There are a lot of flavours of chicken and veggies and it is not as high in sugars and fats as many other dishes.

What is Veganism and why is it celebrated in November?

0
Vegan Month

Happy world vegan month! Do you know that the month of November is celebrated as vegan month meaning 30 full days of veganism? The vegan community dates back to the old days with more and more joining the movement thanks to increased accessibility to vegan food products. It’s a curious topic for many and intriguing as well, and why not? Being on a plant-based diet is not an easy thing to do. Instead, it’s a giant step for mother nature and the planet.

What is Veganism?

The concept of veganism is as old as our history and its impact can be seen more nowadays as more and more people are turning vegans for quite obvious reasons- for the planet and for the animals! Unlike vegetarians, vegans avoid eggs and animal products in any form such as cheese, milk or milk products and gelatin.

The Vegan Society defines veganism as “a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms, it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.”

Reasons for adopting Veganism

  • To maintain a healthy lifestyle– Research has shown that going vegan can reduce or reverse your state of chronic diseases and their impact on your health. Plant-based diet is always a healthier alternative to meat and helps reduce your chances of getting diseases related to blood pressure, cholesterol levels, body weight, risk of heart disease, and risk of Type-2 diabetes.
  • Food poisoning common through animal products– Animal products, especially meats and milk, can be contaminated with unhealthy chemicals. Herbicides, pesticides, and heavy metals are frequently found in animal fat. It is also possible that the animals themselves have received growth hormones that may be present in processed meat.
  • Free of allergens– Many people are allergic to animal and milk products derived from animal-based sources. Going vegan is making sure that you get all that nutrition and healthy food with plant-based healthy substitutes of meat and other animal products without getting allergic reaction.
  • For mind body and wellness– Veganism is considered healthy diet and its effects have shown improvements in one’s physiological and psychological health. Eating a consistent vegan diet is believed to bring more stability in one’s mind and thoughts in the long run.

What do vegans eat?

One might wonder, ”what do vegans eat?” but the reality is there are thousands of vegan recipes and dishes that taste as good as meat dishes and are easy to prepare.

  • fruits and vegetables
  • Whole grain pasta, bread, rice, couscous, bulgur, millet, quinoa, and so much more)
  • legumes, nuts, and seeds (chickpeas, black beans, pinto beans are a great source of plant-based proteins!
  • flaxseeds, walnuts, or chia seeds
  • tofu and soybeans
  • fortified dairy substitutes such as almond milk, oat milk, or soy milk
  • vegan food products or meat alternatives like plant-based burger patties, plant-based mayonnaise, etc.

Some popular vegan dishes include falafel, rice and beans curry, vegan black bean burger, vegan tofu vegan fried rice, vegan veg soup, noodles soup, vegetable burrito with avocado and beans, vegan pie, spring rolls, and many more mouth-watering vegan delicacies which are famous around the world and equally enjoyed by meat lovers.

Veganism is not a trend and it’s here to stay, not fade away. It is becoming a movement which is getting stronger every day as more and more people pledge to give up meat in their diet to turn vegan.

Why is All Eat the best meal ordering platform for foodies?

order food online with All Eat

You’ve had a long day at work, and you’re exhausted. You’re thinking about ordering food online or going out for dinner. You pick up your phone to order online but wait. We can help you choose the best delivery/takeaway app to order your favourite food. Read this blog from All Eat to decide which online food delivery/takeout service is the best for you.

The Covid-19 pandemic has boosted the takeaway and delivery culture across the world. People love to savour their favourite dishes in the cosiness of their homes. However, it can be tricky to decide which food delivery app to choose for carry-out as there are a lot available out there and pricing is the primary factor people consider when ordering food online.

Things to consider while ordering from online meal delivery services

Menu prices

We all know that popular takeaway apps charge higher than the restaurant menu price since they operate on commission basis which means that they charge a fee from restaurants for every order they receive. This can range from £4 to £30 (or more) depending on your order amount.

If you are ordering food via popular takeaway platforms, keep in mind that you have to pay that commission in the form of a higher price for the food that you order.

If you want to enjoy your food without burning a hole in your pocket, all you have to do is order via All Eat to get discounted menu prices as we accept 0% commission from the restaurant owners who then don’t have to recover those costs from their customers (you).

Expensive isn’t always better

The big players in the food delivery business like Dxxxxxxxx, Jxxx Exx and Uxxx Exx have pretty high menu rates since they can charge as much from the restaurants as they want. Sure, they lure customers with coupons and deals on their platform but even when you use those coupons, that doesn’t make much difference to your total order amount since they charge a hefty commission (20%-40%) on food orders.

However, when you order from All Eat, you gain access to thousands of local eateries at discount prices (since we don’t charge commission) so that you can relish a variety of cuisines without breaking the bank.

Be aware of your budget

Why be a slave to overpriced food delivery services? Most of you straightaway order through Dxxxxxxxxx, Uxxx Exxx or Jxxx Exx without realising that you have to pay a premium amount for the delivery, customer service and even some extra charges for small orders. This can sometimes hamper your eating-out budget which shouldn’t happen right?

Instead, when you order from All Eat, you don’t have to worry about add-on charges for your takeout. Instead of charging you more, All Eat charges its restaurants less and the menu prices remain low for our customers. Isn’t that a steal?

Customer Support

Almost all online food platforms offer customer service in their agreement, and we’re sure they must be great. However, sometimes you have to wait too long to complain about missing food items in your order or when your order gets delivered extremely late. We understand this and that’s why we have extended phone support (in English and Mandarin) for our valuable customers in case they have issues with their orders.

Choice of eat-out options

Sometimes, you just want to chill at home and order a takeaway/delivery while some days you fancy eating out at your favourite dine-in. While not all delivery apps provide this luxury of booking a reservation at your favourite eatery, All Eat App allows you to book a table at your favourite restaurant. Just log on to the All Eat website to find the nearest dine-in places to book your table.

Our take

Whether you’re a student, an employee or you’re eating out with family, everyone wants to save money when ordering food online. So, the next time you choose to eat out, don’t forget to order from All Eat platform to save big bucks on your next order. Simply enter your postcode into our app, and we will help you find the perfect takeaway or delivery just as you like.

Indian cuisine is regal and royal in every aspect and India is home to some of the best recipes which are relished by people all over the world. While it’s advisable to try every dish in this diverse country, we present to you the six all-time favourite Indian foods which are a must-try for every foodie or non-foodie in the world.

The beauty of Indian cuisine is that every recipe has its own unique flavour and you’ll always find something which will surely tickle your taste buds.

Now let’s check out the 6 most popular North Indian dishes

Chicken Tikka Masala

This dish needs no introduction. It is probably the first thing which comes to your mind when we talk about Indian food. Chicken Tikka Masala is a popular Indian dish consisting of chicken pieces marinated in yogurt, spices, and tomatoes, then grilled or baked. Boneless chicken pieces swimming in aromatic orange gravy, flavoured with curd and spices. This dish will surely melt in your mouth with every bite you take. Best accompanied with Indian Naan bread or basmati white rice.

Chicken Tikka

Chicken Tikka is similar to chicken tikka masala, except it doesn’t have any tomato sauce. Instead, it uses a spice mix called garam masala. Chicken Tikka is essentially chicken tikka masala but served without gravy. It is eaten as a non-veg starter and is traditionally baked using skewers on a brazier or over charcoal after marinating in Indian spices and yoghurt.

Tandoori Chicken

Tandoori chicken is cooked in a clay oven, known as a tandoor. The chicken is coated in a mixture of herbs and spices including cumin, coriander, turmeric, ginger, garlic, chili peppers, salt, and lemon juice. It’s then slowly roasted in the tandoor to get that aromatic flavour. This Indian dish is a classic fave and is little spicy.

Korma

Korma is another flavoursome rich curry dish from North India. There are many variations of korma such as chicken korma, mix-veg korma and meat korma. Each korma dish is prepared using lots of ingredients and spices such as onion, garlic, ginger, chilies, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, mace, black pepper, cumin, corianders, bay leaf, and saffron.

Butter Chicken

Another savoury dish from the culinary basket of India is Butter chicken curry which is prepared with aromatic golden spices, ginger-garlic paste and lots of butter. It’s mildly spiced and the incredible fusion of cream sauce, spiced up tomatoes, and a range of Indian spices melts in your mouth instantly.

Dal Makhani

You must be wondering what can be special about dal? But wait, Dal Makhani is not some regular Indian recipe, it’s the queen of all lentils. It’s prepared using black lentils, a lot of spices and cream-hence the name dal Makhani. The moment you taste it, you’ll immerse in its rich creamy and buttery taste perfectly blended with mild spices.

Chinese food

“Yes, our customers are always asking for more and more, but we’re not even near our limits yet,” she added. “All we can do is keep working hard and delivering the best Chinese takeaway meals all over the UK. “

Some of our favourite Chinese dishes include:

  • Crispy Aromatic Duck

Served with a sweet plum sauce and pak choi, this dish is a real chow Mein delight, with the crispy duck skin – added only when you order it – standing out in the crowd, but then there’s that lovely sweet plum sauce to go with it. The pak choi isn’t too much either. This is a winner all round.

  • Sweet ’n’ Sour Pork

This is definitely a dish you should order if you’re looking for something different, with the sweet and sour glaze marring the meat perfectly. It’s served with a few spring onions and some chilli threads – which add a nice touch of spice to the dish – plus it’s all finished off with crushed peanuts on top.

  • Egg Fried Rice

This is a staple dish that always goes down well. It’s our most popular Chinese takeaway dish, and it’s also great if you’re trying to cut down on your carbs. It’s basically just fried rice with a sprinkling of egg on top, but it definitely hits the spot.

These dishes are brought to you by All Eat. Order the best in Chinese food anywhere in the UK – if not the world.
